New Vehicle Cadillac ATS 2013

This time Cadillac isn't trying the bigger car/smaller price formula it used with the original CTS. Instead, the ATS is nearly identical in size to the latest 3 Series.

The 2013 ATS takes Cadillac’s Art & Science design language and reinterprets it for proportions relative to the vehicle’s compact design. The compact model sits at 182.8 inches/4643mm long, 55.9 inches/1421 mm tall, and 71.1 inches/1805 mm wide. Its wheelbase measures 109.3 inches/2775 mm, with a 59.5 inches/1512 mm track in the front and a 60.9 inches/1548 mm track in the rear. The ATS was built using a new rear-wheel drive platform with a total weight of only 3400 lbs and a 51/49 weight distribution. Cadillac managed to keep the weight as low as possible by using an aluminum hood, magnesium engine mount brackets, and lightweight, natural-fiber door trim panels.

After being rumored for quite some time, the new Cadillac ATS compact sedan has officially been unveiled at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The car was built to challenge some of the world’s best premium cars like the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes C-Class. It will go on sale in Summer 2012.

No matter how far under the 3,400-pound threshold Cadillac gets, the ATS will be well-equipped to outrun the 3 Series, provided you choose the right engine. Customers will have the possibility to choose between three engines: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 HP, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 HP, and a 3.6-liter V6 with 318 HP. All three engines can be combined with either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission, as well as an optional all-wheel drive system.

"Designed with quick, nimble and fun-to-drive dynamics, ATS expands Cadillac’s portfolio into a crucial global segment," said Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac. "For a new group of luxury consumers, this is a car that will fit their lifestyle and challenge the segment’s status quo."

An all-new rear-wheel-drive platform underpins the ATS. Cadillac says the new chassis delivers a nearly 50/50 front-to-rear weight balance. The front suspension is a multilink, double-pivot MacPherson strut design, while the rear suspension is a five-link, fully independent setup. An optional "FE3" suspension will be available that adds driver-adjustable Magnetic Ride Control similar to the larger XTS sedan. A set of 17-inch wheels will come standard, while 18-inch wheels and Brembo brakes will be optional.

The elegance and simplicity of the exterior flows inside of the vehicle towards a driver-focused interior with integrated technology and crafted materials like real wood, plated metal plating, and carbon fiber trim. Of course, these features are second to the all-new Cadillac CUE (Cadillac User Experience). It pairs a touch-sensitive screen with the ability to connect with up to 10 Bluetooth devices to deliver music, phone and navigation integration, with a minimalist design that keeps the button count to a minimum. Like so many other aspects of the ATS, we'll have to try it out before we'll know for sure if it's an improvement over the competition or not. The new 2013 Cadillac ATS will be distinguished by its active shutter grille, LED-infused headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome trim, vertical taillights, and integrated trunk spoiler
DESIGN

Though similar in external size to the outgoing second generation M-Class -
it’s marginally longer and wider and slightly lower - the gen-three vehicle is
noticeably more spacious inside than before. Even better, it has a light and
airy feel that makes it appear larger again. Again, the dash area follows
the latest Mercedes’ style, with large, easy-to-read speedo and tacho directly
in front of the driver and a good-sized multifunction central display screen
sitting high to minimise driver distraction.

A new range of control stalks gradually being introduced throughout the
Mercedes range are a feature of the new M-Class. To our fingers they don’t have
the same solid feel as the long-standing older units, but we will probably
become used to them with practice. Another change that will be noticed by
longtime drivers of M-Class, is the replacement of the somewhat awkward
foot-operated parking brake with a finger operated unit near the bottom right
of the steering wheel. That is, in the same position occupied by the release
lever for many years - a sensible move.
VALUE

The complete 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is priced between $81,400 and
$177,900. Pricing of the all-new Mercedes-Benz M-Class is impressive, with
drops of several thousand dollars compared with the outgoing model, and that
despite the new M-Class having significantly more equipment than its
predecessors.

TECHNOLOGY

A full range of connectivity is offered in the new Mercedes SUV, with
Bluetooth streaming, USB and even an SD card. A total of 40 Gb is used in the
complex information and entertainment system that, among other things, provides
Suna traffic management. Around 10 Gb is available for storage of music and
similar files. At this stage only two engines are being imported to
Australia due to high demand in other countries stretching the factory’s production
output. These are both turbo-diesel units; a four-cylinder 2.1-litre
producing up to 150 kilowatts of power and a stunning 500 Newton metres of
torque; and a 3.0-litre V6 with an even more impressive 190 kW and 620
Nm.

Fuel consumption figures of 6.4 and 7.3 litres per hundred kilometres,
respectively, are quoted for the two diesel engines described below. Driven
carefully on country trips the ML 250 could cover 1500 kilometres between
fills. These new-design diesels, working with a stop-start system, seven-speed
automatic, low rolling resistance tyres, clever body aerodynamics and numerous
smaller changes have pulled the fuel consumption down by an average of 25 per
cent across the new model range.

SAFETY

Primary safety is provided by a host of electronic systems, many of them
pioneered by Mercedes in the topline S-Class models, as well as daytime running
lights (DRLs). Secondary safety sees the fitment of no fewer than nine airbags
(including side units front and rear and a driver’s knee bag).

DRIVING

Over a two-day period we sampled both new turbo-diesels - the ML 250 and ML
350 - on an extended drive program set by Mercedes-Benz out of Melbourne, along
the famed Great Ocean Road and in the hills behind the coast. Even the
2.1-litre engine is likely to provide enough performance for the average owner,
with strong torque, and good response from both the engine and transmission.
The 3.0 is there for those who like a bit of sport from their diesels. The
vehicles are smooth and quiet to ride in, though we did find the ride on
vehicle fitted with the 19-inch wheels and 45-series tyres a little on the
jiggly side on broken bitumen roads.

The front seats are large and support well and there’s a feeling of quality
and refinement in the interior that will impress all who travel within
it. The thick windscreen pillars - to make the M-Class safer during a
crash - blocked our view on some bends, particularly when the roads were
dropping downhill and sweeping to the right. Steering is by a new
electrically assisted system (part of the fuel reduction package) provides good
feel and has the added advantage that the big SUV can parallel park itself
should the driver so desire. Road grip is well above that likely to be demanded
by the typical owner, thus providing huge levels of safety.

VERDICT

Buyers with a bit over $85,000 to spare can have a prestigious Mercedes-Benz
on their driveway. One that’s built to a high standard - after a somewhat shaky
start in the quality field in the late 1990s - and enjoy a space, comfort and
safety.
The ZL1 features a supercharged and inter cooled 6.2 L V-8 engine that produces 580 hp (430 kW) and 556 lb•ft (754 N•m) of torque.[43] A six-speed Tremec T6060 manual with a dual plate clutch, MagneRide active suspension (formerly used in the Corvette lineup), 20 inch Goodyear Supercar F2 tires with aluminum wheels, and 14.4/14.6 inch Brembo brakes are included.

The vehicle is expected to be available in early 2012 for the 2012 model year. The 2012 new vehicle Camaro ZL1 is the highest-performing production Camaro of all time. It is literally like nothing you've ever driven before. Built to be track-capable right from the showroom, and tested on some of the most rigorous tracks around the world, including the Nürburgring, where it clocked in at 7:41.27. This is the car every engineer dreams about building. Every racer dreams about tearing around the track. And every owner dreams about—a sports car that looks mean, but feels comfortable and docile enough for daily driving.

According Tony Roma, ZL1 Program Engineering Manager, the 2012 new vehicle camaro ZL1 brings the latest and greatest of everything, improved performance and looked the part, all proven on the most demanding tracks around the world.ZL1 is designed to be driven exactly like it should be—hard. The fuel system has added fuel pick-ups to maximize the amount of fuel available even under high g cornering on the most aggressive tracks. The standard Tremec® 6-speed manual transmission comes with a revised short-throw shifter for increased precision. The dual-mode exhaust enables peak performance at high engine speeds, and has been engineered to create an aggressive sound at idle without overwhelming when cruising at a steady speed—the drawback of some aftermarket performance exhausts.

6.2L SC V8 Engine

The 580-horsepower, 556 lb.-ft. of torque, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine can be mated to a Tremec® 6-speed manual (MG9) or HydraMatic® 6L90 automatic transmission. This aluminum-block engine is based on GM's legendary small block V8 architecture and features an intercooled supercharger system and premium heat-resistant aluminum alloy cylinder heads.Eaton® Supercharger

The uniquely designed sixth-generation intercooled 1.9-liter Eaton® supercharger gives ZL1 additional thrust and more force. The 4-lobed supercharger enables a broad range of power through the rpm band, giving the engine great low-end torque and excellent horsepower at the range where a supercharger generally loses its effectiveness.

Automatic TransmissionThe optional automatic is no afterthought—it's a fully integrated powertrain offering that is completely unique to the segment. The Hydra-Matic® 6L90 is built to handle the massive torque and power, steering wheel paddle shifting helps to make shifts quick and convenient. The upshift algorithm in TAPshift® mode reduces delay time, allowing for aggressive tap downshifts and upshifts.

The algorithm has been designed to recognize aggressive throttle movement to hold lower gears for aggressive driving.Manual TransmissionA true harmony of smooth and raw feel, ZL1 features the latest Tremec® 6-speed manual transmission with a revised short-throw shifter. The new shifter has a short-throw ratio and incorporates a revised shift knob, designed to be more performance oriented in the driver's hand. The system provides smooth transfer of the engine's exceptional power and torque, and the dual mass flywheel design ensures quiet, smooth operation. The smaller diameter and lower inertia of the twin disc clutch ramp up the 0-60 performance.

An Interior to Match

If you're looking for rear-seat DVD players, tons of storage space and eight cup holders, you shouldn't even be on this page. The interior of the ZL1 is designed exactly like the rest of the ZL1—to outperform every other sports car in its class. That being said, with its finely tuned suspension, sueded microfiber-accented instrument panel and available sueded microfiber wrap on the steering wheel and shifter, you'll feel like you're in a touring car.
Driver-Centric

For ZL1, revised pedals allow for optimized foot placement for track use. Available in either a three-door or five-door model, Range Rover's "crossover coupé" features bold styling and a lively, 240-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes driving about town a blast. However, lest you think that Range Rover has gone soft, the Evoque Coupe is equally as comfortable in the mud and the muck thanks to advanced off-road features like Land Rover's carefully-tested Terrain Response system.

By sticking close to its original concept, Land Rover vehicle produced a striking design with the Evoque .
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLUZz0JXbfTULQ5uml1pKCT6ZC7pgFSut58D0iHk5Oz7_DnUX_Wg7Sn1Kvm2uclha583DPSnLvkvuYZP3X7XIiV5sWbLx7I2ImVbax7nTO55TqWlE6oj622tgs6aFM2EokVL4NtI_nJtIT/s320/photo%252829%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733857439660918882" />

The front of the Evoque carries the Land Rover grille, if on a reduced scale, but the racy side profile retains much of the look of the LRX concept on which the car is based. And the rear window has the sunglasses look of the new Jaguar XJ.

It is a good-looking car, and the interior also more than met my expectations of luxury vehicle. The Evoque has a simple and well-ordered interior. Thick leather covers the seats and the metal grilles over the speakers look like serious business. White crystals stud the gauge faces and a piece of glass the size of a door serves for a roof.

The Evoque uses a dial for its drive selector, similar to Jaguar models, with buttons for selecting different off-road programs.

The tendency to lunge was uncomfortable, but the car was still drivable. And in the dense urban environment, I definitely appreciated its size and excellent turning radius. The ride felt solid, easily soaking up the bumps. There was no softness in the suspension; the tuning felt rigid to give it better cornering performance. As CNET's review car was the low trim, called Pure, it did not have the magnetic suspension control mentioned above, just a fixed system that Land Rover had to tune to the best compromise between sport and comfort.

The higher engine speeds of freeway driving masked any lunging, and the Evoque felt like it would be a nice car for a road trip. Land Rover gives it a full cabin tech suite, although being a smaller company it does not push the envelope as Audi does. The center touch-screen LCD defaulted to a home screen, which came off as a bit cluttered with its large buttons for navigation, audio, and the phone system, alongside smaller buttons for a variety of other functions.

Land Rover gives the various menus and onscreen buttons neat animations, easing transitions between screens but at the same time getting in the way of a quick response. I quickly found the setting that let me turn the animations off. But even with that, the touch screen was often slow to respond to button presses. Even entering an address with the onscreen keyboard involved a little wait time.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-MfSX8gaNjljZN61HRFcR-DLLyqAX1qgvm-i9o-ZxyVchNg0FPPQ3KbO8TPQpCDymRitNwD64nij4GgF8qG2YSEMZmn44MCWl8QOyG1HyiGLt0bJ4Ahy53pdxLViTBQIlXKewsfZqt41I/s320/photo%252828%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733857520950200642" />
Technical Specifications Range Rover Evoque Vehicle

Vehicle type: front-engine, all-wheel drive, 4-passenger, 3-door crossover
Engine: 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with direct injection
Horsepower: 240 hp
Torque:250 lb-ft
Transmission: 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters

Curb weight: 3,616 lbs
Length/Width/Height: 171.5/77.4/63.2 in

Brakes: 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS; electronic brakeforce distribution; brake assist; corner brake control
Suspension: independent front and rear with long-travel coil springs; front and rear anti-roll bars
Traction: Adaptive Dynamics with MagneRide; Land Rover Terrain Response; dynamic stability control with traction control
0-60: 7.1 seconds
Top Speed: 135 mph

EPA City: 18 mpg
EPA Highway: 28 mpg

Safety: park assist; blind spot monitoring system; driver and passenger airbags; knee airbags; side curtain and thorax airbags

Likes: style; off-road capability; ease of driving

Dislikes: cramped back seat; not sure about the all-glass roof

The good: The 2012 Range Rover Evoque vehicle uses direct injection and a turbo to get 240 horsepower out of its 2-liter engine. But, the car to wait for is the 2013 Focus ST, which debuts in early 2012. It gets a six-speed manual with the same EcoBoost (turbocharged) 2.0-liter as the much larger Edge and Explorer and will be good for somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 hp, which puts it in league with hot hatches like the MazdaSpeed3 and beyond the output of the VW GTI. Ford is also promising a tauter suspension and meatier tires as well as bigger brakes to go with all that horsepower. Expect to pay at least $25,000.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Y4mQmSj4yt4BRBW0INwsSmM7qlhImQuO9FuQtO2c3cnpWJNplVzEWNW68QUhVM0Hlx81PFVAYOpZhgqbjhit7CjXbOy6XWwBXxkAE6lSXY8FEwrsSB7IxgPx3EawphLTla85ruIxHIsN/s320/photo%252826%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733233435810270306" />
Ford's next-generation global hot hatch is finally upon us in the form of the 2012 Ford Focus ST being revealed in production trim at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. With 250 horsepower on tap, this fast Focus cannot get here fast enough for Ford enthusiasts. The 2012 Focus ST is the first global performance vehicle developed as part of Ford's much-discussed One Ford program. The internal program has pushed all global design, engineering, and product planning together to create one lineup for Ford's products worldwide. Unlike the previous-generation Focus ST, which was for European consumption only, the new one will be available in more than 40 markets on six continents, although a Focus ST Wagon will be sold in the European market only.

The new ST uses a tuned version of Ford's 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost inline four-cylinder rated at 250 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed through a six-speed manual to the front wheels, which wear 18-inch Y-shaped spoke alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance 235/40R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tires. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost takes advantage of high-pressure direct injection, a low-inertia turbocharger, and twin-independent variable cam timing to help decrease fuel consumption by a claimed 20 percent compared to the outgoing ST. The turbo four also gets a redesigned intake and exhaust system for the ST application, as well as a unique ECU calibration.

The ST uses a new variable-ratio steering rack that decreases sensitivity in a straight line and increases sensitivity during cornering, according to Ford's engineers. The new steering rack is paired with an electric power steering system and a torque steer compensation system (TSC). When TSC detects torque steer, it communicates to the power steering system, which counteracts the effect to eliminate torque steer feel for the driver.

The Focus ST also receives a modified electronic stability program (ESP) with three modes. Normal mode is based on the ESP system in the standard Focus, but has been recalibrated to be less intrusive to the driver. Wide-slip mode switches off the traction control, but the system will step in if things get too far out of line. The third and final mode is all off; traction control and ESP are both deactivated, leaving only sub-features like the enhanced dynamic cornering control (EDCC) and TSC enabled.

Ford has also added an enhanced torque vectoring control to the Focus ST. It works by braking the inner wheel of the vehicle through a turn to reduce understeer, similar to a limited-slip differential. It is paired with cornering under steer control (CUSC), which sends torque to the outside wheel based on the amount of understeer present to keep the ESP from kicking in.

The ST will use uprated shock absorbers and lower springs that drop the ST by 10 millimeters -- lowering the car's center of gravity and giving the ST a meaner stance. The rear suspension uses upgraded knuckles with an all-new anti-roll bar.

It won't be hard to tell the ST apart from lesser Focii, thanks to its single-piece, honeycomb trapezoidal black grille and rear diffuser with center-mounted exhaust. A new, larger rear spoiler increases high-speed stability while reducing drag. The ST will be offered in unique colors: Performance Blue, Race Red, White, and Tangerine Scream -- Ford's new signature orange-gold for the ST line. Inside, the ST receives specially designed sport pedals, steering wheel, and gearshift. Ford worked with Recaro to design unique front seats featuring a low seating position. A new rear seat uses sculpted foam to help hold passengers in place during enthusiastic driving.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5M5vC0MHEoXgeo1hpYGO9gGhxI0oHIRM0nqmnDgx2fJKzG3uKa9WDgwPnzDy9npEexh12JRdNv1pJQbcfbh87bBt69Vcna3X4HFiqibGqPSaJjtAAsKU06z3hL4vIOuQJ37wylNt9gdGg/s320/photo%252824%2529.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733233614263552018" />
The ST also gets a number of creature comforts standard, including automatic headlights, auto-dimming rear mirror, automatic wipers, and floor mats. Partial-leather Recaros, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, eight-way seat adjustability, and bi-xenon headlights are optional.

The 2012 Focus ST is slated to go on sale worldwide starting next year, and we're betting hot-hatch enthusiasts from coast-to-coast will be queuing up at Ford dealers to get their hands on one.

Forget fun to drive. Bumper cars are fun to drive. The 2012 Focus has an intense side that comes out when you push the start button. It comes with an all-new chassis and suspension that's tighter and better than ever, and a new cornering assist system that puts the torque where the traction is. We took some very sweet performance technology and put it at your finger tips. Available spring 2011.

For 2012, the Focus offers crisp handling thanks to a rear stabilizer bar and our fully-independent control blade rear suspension that stubbornly resist body roll. The available Titanium Handling Package is taut and confidence inspiring -- it adds a unique sport-tuned suspension with 18" wheels and low profile summer-only tires. You’ll look forward to a ride you'll love every day.

Our 2.0L Ti-VCT I4 engine is all-new for the 2012 Focus. The class-exclusive Direct injection* provides a cooler, denser more precise charge while our Twin independent Variable Cam Timing self adjusts for efficient performance at low rpm and exhilarating power when you step on it. So you can go green and go quickly.

Part of what makes Focus so satisfying to drive is its fully engaging available six-speed PowerShift™ automatic transmission, which delivers seamless gear changes and excellent responsiveness. And because it’s also designed to be fuel-smart, you can have plenty of fun, without paying the price at the pump. Select models also include SelectShift™ technology which allow you to change gears at the touch of a button.

The new Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) automatically adjusts to deliver precise responses at high speed and optimal maneuverability at slower speeds when needed. Its Pull-Drift Compensation technology constantly measures the driver’s steering input, adapts to changing road conditions and helps compensate for slight directional shifts caused by factors such as uneven road surfaces or steady crosswinds. What you’ll notice is enhanced responsiveness and superior control, specifically tuned for each Focus model.

G forces in a corner transfer more traction to your outside tires than to your inside ones. Our unique Torque Vectoring Control system exploits that by transferring torque to the wheels that have the most grip. It virtually eliminates understeer, forcing the front end to hug the inside of each curve. New technology usually only available on premium vehicles, it creates a connection to the road you’ll find habit-forming.

AdvanceTrac® Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with anti-lock brakes (ABS) is standard on every Ford Focus. This state-of-the-art system constantly monitors road conditions and the driver's responses, then adjusts engine power and applies the ABS brakes to help keep all the wheels firmly planted. ESC brings an added measure of handling confidence to the agility you'd expect in a Ford Focus.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8326961689691655584.post-9361035750825867572012-04-17T07:13:00.009-07:002012-04-17T07:37:00.590-07:00New vehicle Camry 2012

Highlight of the 2012 vehicle Toyota Camry

Lean Design, engaging driving dynamics

The 2012 vehicle Toyota Camry has been improved in almost every detail, which is excellent news since the previous model was disappointing in many regards. On the whole, this may look like the same package, but it's been massaged and redesigned to bring it up to the standards of usability, safety and interior construction set by the competition, and then retuned and restyled to be a little more expressive. But as before, durability and reliability are still the key attributes meant to set the 2012 Toyota Camry apart from its rivals.

Toyota vehicle company achieved these improvements without direct fuel injection, downsized engines, or turbocharging. Instead, the company relied on basics such as a 155-pound diet, lower-rolling-resistance tires, sleeker sheetmetal, taller gearing, more-aggressive torque-converter lockup, and electric power steering. The 2.5-liter four and the 3.5-liter V-6 are both unchanged.

Improved fuel economy in all models; Hybrid achieves 43 mpg

The Toyota vehicle Camry again offers three power train choices (2.5-litre, V6 3.5-litre and 2.5-litre Hybrid with Dual VVT-i) in U.S.A., all of which have been enhanced for 2012 to provide better fuel economy and more responsive performance.

You'll notice that the new vehicle Camry offers improved versions of last year's engines: a 178-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 268-hp 3.5-liter V6. Both engines feature a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver better fuel economy. The four-cylinder returns an EPA-estimated 35 highway mpg, while the V6 achieves 30 mpg on the highway. And yet, despite this thriftiness, the Camry's vehicle engines are notably eager to deliver swift acceleration when you need it. There's also a Camry Hybrid, covered in a separate review.

Within the cabin, the front seats have been redesigned to be more supportive and repositioned to afford more rear legroom. However, the bigger difference inside can be seen in design and quality. The old Camry suffered from subpar interior materials and a rather uninspired design. The new vehicle Camry reverses this downward trend, especially in the SE and XLE trims, with dramatically improved build quality and a pleasing selection of thoughtfully chosen trim types, textures and materials. Meanwhile, a new, well-designed touchscreen electronics interface and several high-tech features help set it apart from the pack.

Toyota vehicle company has also set out to address a long-running complaint about the Camry being boring to drive. Suspension improvements have been made to enliven the Camry's handling dynamics and make the ride more composed. It's not entirely effective -- numb steering and a general disconnected feel make the Camry a less desirable car to drive than most rivals. The exception to this is the SE, which isn't so much a sport model, but rather the one that manages to bring the Camry's driving dynamics up to par for the class.

In total, the Toyota vehicle Camry is once again one of the more appealing midsize family sedans. Still, that class is better than ever and we suggest checking out the competition thoroughly before settling on a Camry. The Honda Accord and Mazda 6 continue to set the standard for those who want their car to feel responsive, while the Hyundai Sonata offers more style, comparable refinement and stellar value. Meanwhile, the new Volkswagen Passat is bigger and cheaper than ever while still maintaining its European flavor. The Camry may have corrected many of its predecessor's faults, but its improved competition means choosing one still isn't the slam-dunk it once was.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2012 Toyota vehicle Camry is offered in L, LE, SE and XLE trim levels. Thinner front pillars increase visibility and narrower door panels open up elbow room. Door panel controls also move higher, allowing knees to move more freely. The redesigned front seats are not only more comfortable and supportive, but their thinner backs result in more rear seat legroom. This, in addition to a nicely reclined seatback angle, helps the Camry match the Honda Accord for the most comfortable backseat in the class.

But the most notable improvement has been regarding interior design and materials. The previous mismatch of poorly fitted hard plastic has been replaced with better construction and a more pleasing array of textures, trim and subtle decorative stitching. The SE trim in particular has a certain hip vibe that the Camry hasn't possessed in, well, possibly ever.

New Entune Multimedia System

Toyota vehicle Camry will be one of the first Toyotas to offer the Entune multimedia system. For the first time ever in a Toyota automobile, this new system leverages the mobile smartphone to provide a richer in-vehicle experience with fully integrated access to navigation, entertainment and information services.

The Camry's new upgraded audio system also includes Entune, a suite of smartphone-connected services that includes features like the Bing search engine, Pandora streaming radio, real-time traffic, sports and stock information, and the ability to reserve movie tickets or a table at a restaurant on the go. The 2012 Toyota vehicle Camry's new electric-assisted steering (once limited to the hybrid) feels pretty decent in the V6 and SE versions. But non-SE four-cylinder versions, which use an electric-assist steering system from a different supplier, feel vague and somewhat lifeless. On the bright side, this new Camry feels more alert, with a more refined suspension that feels less floaty and disconnected. Still, we highly recommend the SE. It's not exactly what we'd call sporty, but its dynamics do feel more in line with the handling and responsiveness of its best rivals.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8326961689691655584.post-57293969342102925652012-02-14T08:40:00.002-08:002012-04-17T03:27:49.539-07:00New Vehicle Honda CRV 2012

New vehicle 2012 Honda CR-V

Many designers say the hardest car to design is a car that is beloved by generations, and millions, of car owners. border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683009811705678546" />
The Toyota Fortuner, soulmate of the Toyota Hilux pickup on which it is based, has just received a facelift for 2012. It has already been revealed in Thailand, where it is built.

First introduced in 2005, the 2012 Toyota Fortuner receives a new frontal treatment similar to that of the 2012 Toyota Hilux. That includes new headlights, bumper and grille, along with different tail lamps, rear bumper and wheels. The 8-seater interior may have changed a bit, but we can’t be sure without comparing to an older model. The bonnet scoop is only turbodiesel models, which are not offered in the GCC.

That’s about it for the “new” model, as the engines remain the same. Expect the facelifted Fortuner to reach dealerships in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries by the end of summer.

As we see from the images, the new 2012 Toyota Fortuner has sharper finish and the interiors are plusher than before. The Toyota Fortuner has been a successful car with or without the facelift and hence, Toyota Motors has no reason to launch the upgraded version anytime soon. It is the frontend that has undergone maximum change, though the rear end and the interior changes cannot be ruled out. The grille, the headlamps in the front and the bumper are modified to give an edgy finish. The headlights are adorned with projector lamps along with the conventional lights. The front end changes look more effective with the huge chrome grille with horizontal slats

VEHICLE SUMMARY
Name: 2012 New Fortuner
Model:
Car Body Type: SUV

Segment: D Segment
Warranty: 0
VERDICT
FOR Bold Looks
Powerful Engine
AGAINST High Price In Comparison To Captiva & Endeavour
OUR RATINGS
Appearance:
Comfort:
Features:
Performance:
Value for money:
ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS
Displacement: 2982cc, 4 Cyl
Engine Type: Diesel
Maximum Power: 170 Bhp @ 3600 rpm
Maximum Torque: 343 Nm @ 1400 rpm
DIMENSIONS
Length: 4705 mm
Width: 1840 mm
Height: 1795 mm
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS
Seating Capacity: 7
Tyre Size: 265/65 R17
Suspension: Double Wishbone / 4-Link with Lateral Rod
Turning Circle: 5.90 mtrs.
Steering: Power
Brakes: Front Disk, Rear Disk
Gears: 5 Manual
Ground Clearance: 220.00 mm
Kerb Weight: 1960.00 kgs.
Fuel Tank: 80.00
Body Color Bumpers:
Tachometer:
Alloys:
ORVM Indicator:
Xenon Headlamps:
Trip Meter: 2
Headlamp Washer:
ACTIVE AND PASSIVE SAFETY
Airbag: 2
Parking Sensors:
Fog Lamp:
Traction Control:
EBD:
ABS:
ESP:
Rear Seat Belts: 5
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
AC: AC
with Climate Control
Power Windows:
Central Locking: Remote
Remote Boot:
Remote Fuel Filler:
Rear Wiper:
Rear Defogger:
Rear Armrest: With Cup Holder
Streeing Adjustment
(Rake/Reach): /
Driver Seat Adjustment: Electric
Music System: 6 CD, 2-DIN, MP3 with AUX
Leather Seats:
Door Mirror: Both Side Electric
Tinted Glass:
Rear AC Vent:
Folding Rear Seats:
Sun Roof:
Buttons/Controls
on Steering:
Auto Viper:
Auto Headlamp:

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8326961689691655584.post-2293565509596450972011-11-21T02:55:00.000-08:002012-02-01T00:56:58.052-08:00New Tiguan 2012

What's New for 2012

All versions of the 2012 Volkswagen vehicle Tiguan receive freshened exterior styling plus tweaks to the automatic transmission that boost highway fuel economy by 2 mpg. Top-of-the-line SEL models also get new 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive HID headlights and LED daytime running lights.

Introduction

What really sets the Tiguan apart from other small crossover SUVs vehicles is its upscale interior and sophisticated driving dynamics, both of which are noticeably better than its competitors. Inside you'll find a premium-style cabin that approaches Audi in its overall sense of quality. And for power, the Tiguan comes standard with a turbocharged engine that produces a healthy 200 horsepower.

Yet even if practicality isn't your top concern, the Tiguan's limitations should also be taken into consideration. While its cargo hold may be roomy compared to your average midsize sedan, its capacity can't match the space offered by many other small SUVs. In fact, even the Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen offers more cargo room. You should also be aware that the Tiguan's trim levels can be priced significantly higher than comparable models.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV offered in three trim levels: S, SE and SEL.

The entry-level S version comes standard with 16-inch wheels (steel with manual transmission, alloy with automatic), heated mirrors, keyless entry, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 40/20/40-split rear seats with reclining seatbacks, a trip computer, Bluetooth and an eight-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. A panoramic sunroof is optional and it brings with it tinted windows.
The SE adds 18-inch alloy wheels, additional chrome exterior trim, roof rails, fog lamps, heated washer nozzles, tinted windows, leatherette premium vinyl upholstery, heated front seats with driver side power recline and manual height adjustment, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and an upgraded sound system with a touch screen interface, satellite radio, an iPod interface and steering wheel controls. Optional is the panoramic sunroof bundled with a navigation system.
The SEL vehicle includes all of the above plus 19-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, automatic wipers, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar adjustment and memory functions, leather upholstery and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The SEL can be equipped with an upgraded navigation system that includes a larger touch screen and a rearview camera. To this, an eight-speaker Dynaudio premium sound system can be added.

Powertrains and Performance

The 2012 vehicle Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 200 hp and 207 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the Tiguan S, while a six-speed automatic is optional on the S and standard on the SE and SEL. A choice of standard front-wheel drive or an available all-wheel-drive system round out the powertrain details.
In Edmunds performance testing, an all-wheel-drive SEL accelerated from a standstill to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds, which is about average for a small crossover SUV.
A handful of engineering tweaks have resulted in slightly better fuel economy for 2012, with the automatic-equipped front-wheel-drive models now sporting EPA estimates of 22 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined. All-wheel drive models come in at a respectable 21/27/23, while the front-wheel-drive base model with the manual gearbox brings up the rear at 18/26/21.

Safety

Standard equipment on the 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.

In Edmunds brake testing, the all-wheel-drive Tiguan came to a stop from 60 mph in 126 feet -- an average performance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Tiguan its top rating of "Good" for frontal-offset, side-impact and roof-strength crash protection.

Interior Design and Special Features

As with most vehicles in the VW lineup, the 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan boasts a premium-style cabin that approaches Audi in its overall sense of quality. High-end materials and solid craftsmanship (even actual metal trim!) enhance the premium feel. Most controls are large and well placed, and the available navigation systems feature a reasonably user-friendly interface.

Firm, well-shaped seats provide ample support whether you're logging lots of miles on a road trip or simply negotiating a freeway cloverleaf. The 60/40-split-folding rear seat has a cargo pass-through in the middle, so the Tiguan is adept at carrying cargo and passengers at the same time. The rear seat also slides fore and aft to improve either rear legroom or cargo space, and the seatback also reclines. This feature is common among larger compact crossovers like the Honda CR-V, but rare among smaller ones like the Tiguan.

With the rear seats positioned as far forward as they'll go, the Tiguan can accommodate 23.8 cubic feet of cargo. With the second-row seat folded down, maximum capacity jumps to 56.1 cubic feet, although this is about 17 cubic feet shy of the space afforded by the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

Driving Impressions

The 2012 vehicle Volkswagen Tiguan might not have the most impressive acceleration in the segment, but the torquey power delivery of its turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes it feel lively around town. While cornering, the Tiguan feels confident and poised, absorbing bumps with ease. In general, this is one of the most enjoyable small crossovers to drive, aided in part by accurate steering and confidence-inspiring brakes.

Model and Price

1.
